Resumen

This work aims at presenting an aspect of Otto Neurath's proposal for social science. Such author, member of the Vienna Circle, advanced that creating utopias is a function of the social sciences. Hence, we discuss the concept of utopia issued by Neurath. This is done by comparison to Karl Mannheim's Marxist concept of utopia, and to the artistic concept of utopia obtained from the science fiction of H.G. Wells. This paper expects to offer a contribution to a better appreciation of Vienna Circle proposals for social science, as well as to an understanding of the political positions of such group.
