Ontological commitment and ontological naturalism

Resumen


Stated very roughly, ontological naturalism is the thesis according to which our best scientific theories are the best guide when it comes to discover what there is: we should look to our scientific theories in order to discover what the ultimate furniture of the world consists of. However, there is still much place for metaphysical disagreement concerning the multitude distinct metaphysical views may be read off from the same theory. In this work, we shall investigate limitations of naturalism in connection with the discussion of the metaphysics of identity and individuality in quantum mechanics.
